HAMPTON TOWNSHIP, Pa. — State police were called to an accident on the Pennsylvania Turnpike Tuesday morning.
Emergency dispatchers said a car became wedged between two commercial vehicles in the westbound lanes near mile marker 39 in Hampton Township just after 10:30 a.m.

A medical helicopter landed on the turnpike, and one person was flown to the hospital. At least one other victim was transported by an ambulance.

All traffic was stopped on the turnpike in the area of the accident. The road has since reopened.
