WESTMORELAND CO., Pa. — All kinds of job opportunities at Live! Casino in Westmoreland County are on the table, as the newly relaxed COVID-19 restrictions are allowing for a bit of a hiring spree.
From environmental service attendant to table game dealer, the casino is growing its workforce. There was a job fair Monday there, and officials told Channel 11 there are hundreds of positions to fill.
For possible future employees of the casino located inside the Westmoreland Mall, the casino promises a safe work environment -- even with more foot traffic.
“We are not relaxing our COVID protection measures one bit... still six feet, still masks (and) wash hands,” said general manager Sean Sullivan. “And we will earn the right to have more restrictions lifted.”
Staffing and recruiting specialist Greg Criste said he has more than 200 jobs right now that need filled. Most of them are in the light industrial field, such as manufacturing, production workers, assemblers or shipping and receiving.
Each of those positions pay between $11 and $17 an hour.
Criste said there are still there are still workforce challenges like remote learning or canceled daycares that continue to impact potential applicants.
He also told Channel 11 it will take time for things to catch up as restrictions keep loosening.
