City of Pittsburgh awarded over $4.6 million in grants so far for 2020

PITTSBURGH — The City of Pittsburgh announced it has received $4,636,819 in grants year-to-date from federal and state agencies as well as from national and local foundations. Funding from the grants is only to be used for projects that support the funding of a government agency or the purpose of the donating foundation.

“As we are preparing for a deficit of over $115 million in our 2020 city budgets, grant funding opportunities are critical to adding additional financial support for ongoing work in our neighborhoods and communities,” Pittsburgh Mayor William Peduto said in a press release. “We will have tough budgetary decisions to make for 2021, but we are grateful for the support from our federal, state and foundation partners to ensure that our residents will continue to see community investment and programs.”
