County officials ask you keep doors, windows open during Thanksgiving dinner as COVID-19 precaution

PITTSBURGH — Allegheny County leaders asked during a news conference Wednesday that people keep their windows and doors open during Thanksgiving dinner as a precaution against COVID-19.

Officials said with the holidays and colder weather keeping people indoors they do not expect cases to drop any time soon. They’re not discouraging people from seeing loved ones over the holidays, however.

On Wednesday, the health department reported 900 new cases in the county.

The forecast for Thanksgiving from Severe Weather Team 11 includes high temperatures in the mid-40s by the afternoon along with rain and snow showers.
