Crowd lines Forbes Avenue in Squirrel Hill to demonstrate against reported attacks on Asian Americans

PITTSBURGH — Dozens of people lined Forbes Avenue in Squirrel Hill Saturday to stand in solidarity with the Asian American community.

The demonstration follows several reported attacks on Asian Americans, including the murders of Asian women at three spas in the Atlanta area. Organizers of Saturday’s event said a recent surge in reported attacks motivated them.

“We’re just here standing in support and solidarity with Asian communities,” said one of the organizers, named Bethie.

At one point, the crowd wrapped arms around one another and pleaded for the hate to stop.
