PLEASANT HILLS, Pa. — Demonstrators gathered in the parking lot of Southland Shopping Center in Pleasant Hills on Tuesday to protest the death of George Floyd, as well as a video on social media that shows two middle school students mocking his death.
The community came together in Pleasant Hills today for a peaceful demonstration that included prayer, song and powerful speeches.

The event was organized entirely by students from Thomas Jefferson Multicultural Student Union who wanted their voices heard.

Before the demonstration, almost every store in the plaza was boarded up, but the scene remained peaceful, giving students, police and local mothers a chance to speak out.
After the demonstration in the parking lot ended, protesters with signs lined Clairton Boulevard, receiving a loud show of support from the community.
