ADAMS TOWNSHIP, Pa. — People living in Adams Township say they're not against dogs, they just do not want a proposed kennel to open up near their homes.
Neighbors said they're concerned about smell, noise and their property values.
"No kennel in this area has ever opened up this close to a house in the plan," said Gail Carpenter.

Carpenter is helping lead the pack to keep the kennel away. She said more than 200 people have signed a petition to stop the kennel from moving in.
The Dog Shop, a Pittsburgh-based company, wants to move into a strip mall in the area. The company wants to take over the 7,000 square foot space where the McGinnis Sister's specialty shop used to be. The owner tells Channel 11 he has seven businesses throughout the area. He said it is not a traditional kennel, but includes an outdoor play area, boarding area and retail space.
