Family hopes billboard with reward info leads to arrest year after mother of 5 found dead

PITTSBURGH — It’s been almost a year since the body of Jessica Young, a mother of five, was found near a bridge in Larimer.

Young, 35, died from blunt force trauma to the head and middle part of her body. Her death was not ruled a homicide, but undetermined.

Her body was found on March 13, 2019 along Washington Boulevard under the Larimer Avenue Bridge – about six months after being reported missing. At the time, investigators said her body was partially dressed and that it had been there for some time.

Young’s family said they have tried to get answers from detectives, but they feel like they have been left in the dark.

“(The detectives) were hurting me more than her death because they wouldn’t talk to me,” said Katie Bottoms, the victim’s great aunt.

That is part of the reason there is now a large billboard up with a $5,000 reward posted. Young’s family hopes it will bring them closer to justice.
