Former FBI assistant director talks police level of force with Channel 11

PITTSBURGH — After watching a video of the police shooting in Columbus, Ohio, former FBI Assistant Director Tom Fuentes voiced concerns that he believes some protesters are rushing to judgment.

“Could, should something have been done differently here?” asked reporter Angie Moreschi.

“We can look at that and say the officer should have done this, should have done that. I don’t think in that situation the officer could have done anything else that would have been likely to prevent the extreme bodily harm or death of the other girl,” Fuentes said.

He said transparency, like releasing the body camera video, is important in these situations. But he said that sometimes can be misleading.
