Franklin Regional hosting special meeting to discuss reopening plan

GREENSBURG, Pa. — Leaders in the Franklin Regional school district are hosting a special meeting to discuss a 12-page plan posted to the district’s website outlining options to get kids back to school in the fall.

The plan provides different options for students and families under three different state phases in red, yellow and green. It covers everything from different learning models to how the cafeteria will be handled.

Each scenario would be different for each grade level. In elementary schools, students would have more in-person instruction that in middle school or high school. Those buildings would use a hybrid model.

Remote learning is an option for parents who do not feel comfortable sending their kids back to school.

Bus drivers would be temperature-checked every day and buses would be sanitized between each ride.

The meeting was scheduled to be livestreamed online at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
