Pittsburgh Public Schools giving out free food, supplies to families ahead of reopening

PITTSBURGH — As Pittsburgh Public Schools prepares to reopen their campuses to in-person instruction, the district is inviting students and their families to a socially distanced event.

The district is inviting families to pick up food, treat bags, cloth masks and other fun merchandise ahead of the district’s expected reopening on Nov. 9.

On Oct. 30, families can drive through or walk up to the Pittsburgh Faison campus.

You are asked to register for the event, which will be held from 4-7 p.m.

PPS has held virtual learning for the first few months of school, and it plans to reopen in-person instruction on Nov. 9. However, those plans could change over the coming weeks if coronavirus cases continue to rise in western Pa.
