The city of Greensburg is stepping up its fight against blighted properties, applying for grants to tear them down.
With a number of homes that are boarded up, overtaken by weeds or otherwise eyesores, the city is hoping federal funding can help clean up the community.
The city’s planning director said they are in the process of applying for nearly $270,000 in grant money through the Community Development Block Grant Program. It’s part of a three-year project to repair roads and tear down vacant properties.
