PITTSBURGH — A family is safe after their home went up in flames late Friday night.
ALERT: 3-alarm fire on the 7900 block of Maderia St at 11:30 p.m. @PghFireFighters found heavy smoke and flames coming from a two-story house.

The fire happened along Madiera Street in Homewood South.
Police said there was heavy smoke and flames coming from the house at one point.

The fire went to three alarms before it was brought under control.
Two adults, two kids and two dogs are all safe, according to police.
