Hopeful for healing: people in Butler Co. react to Biden inauguration

BUTLER, Pa. — Butler County voted for Donald Trump in 2016 and again in 2020. As Joe Biden became the country’s 46th President, people Channel 11 talked with said they didn’t watch the ceremony, but they were hopeful for the next four years.

“Honestly, I hope we can go back to work, take these darn masks off and get everything back to normal, I guess,” Ashley Cipriani said.

In his speech, President Biden said he would work for everyone - those who voted for him and those who didn’t.

“I don’t believe the election was fair but I do believe God has put him there so he is my president now,” said Christine Braho.

Many said they were hopeful for healing and that there could be an end to the division in the country.
