Kraft Heinz faces lawsuit over Bagel Bites contents

PITTSBURGH — Kraft Heinz is facing a lawsuit over the company’s Bagel Bites pizza snacks.

The lawsuit says the company is using deceptive and misleading packaging.

The wrapper described the product as “mini bagels with mozzarella cheese and tomato sauce,” but the lawsuit claims there’s no “real cheese” or “real tomato sauce” on the nutrition label.

The lawsuit claimed the cheese is a blend containing modified food starch and the sauce contains non-tomato thickeners.

Kraft Heinz officials said the lawsuit lacks merit and they stand by the food they make.
