At least 2 taken to hospital after police called to home in South Fayette Township

SOUTH FAYETTE TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A man was shot in the face by his stepson, who later shot himself, Wednesday night in South Fayette Township, police said.

Police were called just before 11 p.m. to a home on Caledonia Court for a domestic incident, during which a 49-year-old man shot his 67-year-old stepfather.

The stepfather ran from the home after he was shot.

Authorities said the stepson refused to give up his gun when police got to the home and tried to negotiate with him. He then shot himself and died at a hospital, police said.

The stepfather was also taken to a hospital and is expected to survive, according to police.

Investigators have interviewed the stepfather and his wife, who was there when her husband was shot.
