Local distillery plans to make hand sanitizer during coronavirus outbreak

PITTSBURGH — A local distillery is joining others across Pennsylvania to make hand sanitizer to help maintain the supply during the COVID-19 outbreak.

Wigle Whiskey is working to come up with the necessary ingredients that are recommended by the World Health Organization, the company said in a Facebook post.

Since the COVID-19 outbreak, hand sanitizer has been flying off store shelves.

Earlier this week, Eight Oaks Farm Distillery in New Tripoli, Pennsylvania made its first batch of hand sanitizer, sending 20 bottles to charitable groups in need.
