The vigil came one day after three men suspected in the boy’s killing were charged with criminal homicide. Andre Crawford and Marvin Hill have been arrested, while police are still looking for Devon Thompson.

Young was shot in his bed by a bullet that entered his home on Rhine Place when there was a shootout with multiple people outside on Aug. 24. The bullet that killed Young went through a window and two walls before hitting the boy.

Police have not said which of the three men charged fired the fatal shot.

Young’s grandparents were very emotional when talking about the joy he brought to everyone around him.

“When he first started walking, he used to lift my rug up. I don’t know what was about my rug, but he’s just pulling at the rug all the time and opening and closing my cabinets,” said Kamia Jones, his grandmother.

Friends and family told Channel 11 they have already forgiven the suspects and that justice is all they want now.
