Man arrested in connection with 2020 shooting near KFC on Rt. 51

PITTSBURGH — An 18-year-old man was arrested in connection with a shooting that took place near the KFC restaurant on Route 51 in Baldwin last October.

Parris Bailey was arrested and charged with criminal attempt - criminal homicide, disorderly conduct and other charges.

Police said they were called to a reported shooting on Oct. 27. A delivery driver said that a man hopped into his vehicle after gunshots were heard and ordered him to drive. As he started fleeing the scene, another man started firing at the car. The victim then crashed the vehicle into oncoming traffic. After the crash, the passenger jumped out and ran.

Investigators were able to identify one of the shooters as Bailey.

Working with the FBI and local police, county investigators found out that Bailey was staying at a home in the 1200 block of Center Avenue in Wilkinsburg. He was found hiding in a refrigerator and after a brief struggle, was taken into custody.

Bailey was taken to the Allegheny County Jail.
