Man arrested, taken to FBI building in Pittsburgh in connection with bank robbery

CLAIRTON, Pa. — A 38-year-old man was arrested and taken to the FBI Pittsburgh building in connection with the November 2019 robbery of Huntington Bank in North Versailles.

Officials with the Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office said they discovered that D’el Mackey was staying in the Clairton area. Deputies surrounded a home in the 500 block of Third Street and Mackey emerged a short time later. He was immediately taken to the FBI building to be interviewed in connection with the robbery.

Deputies said at about 11:15 a.m. on Nov. 13, police were called to the Huntington Bank in the Great Valley Shopping Center near Walmart for a robbery. The man had passed a note to the teller asking for the money and then ran off.

Investigators said they believed Mackey was responsible based off of surveillance tape. A warrant was issued less than seven hours after the incident.
