Man dead after being shot in head in Pittsburgh’s Homewood neighborhood

PITTSBURGH — A man died after he was shot in the head late Sunday night in Pittsburgh’s Homewood neighborhood, police said.

Police were alerted at around 10 p.m. to a ShotSpotter notification of multiple shots fired on Kedron Street.

Officers found Johnnie Higgins, 58, suffering from a gunshot wound to the head, authorities said. The officers performed CPR until paramedics arrived, but Higgins was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators said they do not have any suspects or witnesses.
