PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh detectives helped get a man to a hospital after he was shot Wednesday evening in the city’s Beltzhoover neighborhood, but he did not survive, police said.
A ShotSpotter alert notified police to multiple gunshots fired shortly after 5 p.m. on Climax Street. At the same time, Violent Crime Unit detectives who were working in the area saw a car heading to the hospital with the shooting victim, police said.
The detectives escorted the car to the hospital’s emergency bay, police said.
Daniel Brice, 26, was inside the car with a gunshot wound, officials said. He later died at the hospital.
