Man facing gun charges after traffic stop in Armstrong County

KISKI TWP., Pa. — An Armstrong County man is facing firearms charges after multiple guns he was not legally allowed to have were found in his vehicle during a traffic stop.

The incident occurred around 11:21 p.m. Friday along River Road in Kiski Township.

Kiski Township police said a traffic stop was conducted and Dean McClafferty, 43, of Ford City was found driving.

During the incident, McClafferty was found trying to conceal a firearm in the driver side door. After McClafferty was taken out of the vehicle, another firearm was found in a holster on his hip along with another firearm partially concealed between his seat and center console.

Police said McClafferty is prohibited from carrying the firearms and he was taken into custody and held in the Armstrong County jail.
