Man shot while leaving Halloween party in Penn Hills dies

PENN HILLS, Pa. — A man died after shots were fired as he and two other people were leaving a Halloween party early Friday morning in a neighborhood in Penn Hills, police said.

The 20-year-old, who has not been identified, was shot shortly after midnight along Curtis Street.

Multiple people were trying to help the man when police got to the scene, authorities said. They were with him when he was shot.

The man was taken to a hospital, where he died.

Tow trucks hauled three cars from the shooting scene and took them to Allegheny County Police Headquarters.

Police are trying to find who was inside a car that crashed into a tree while trying to get away from the area.

Homicide detectives from the Allegheny County Police Department are investigating.
