Man starts fundraising campaign to reopen Beaver Falls wave pool

BEAVER FALLS, Pa. — A Beaver County man is giving back to his community by trying to raise $500,000 to bring back the Beaver Falls wave pool.

The Tigerland Wave Pool has been shut down since 2002, but one man is working with community members to set up social media accounts to promote a fundraising campaign.

Tyrone Ziegler said he believes he let his community down as a young man when he turned to a life of drug dealing.

He admits he took the wrong path, but is now on the right one for the good of the kids.

"They need something besides the streets not to be bored and get in trouble," Ziegler said.

He believes it's an investment in his community.

Ziegler hopes to get it back open by next summer.
