PITTSBURGH — A Whitehall man who threatened to blow up two federal buildings admitted in court on Wednesday to keeping homemade bombs, grenades, guns and other bomb-making materials.

Kurt Cofano, 32, pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court to possession of unregistered destructive devices.

Cofano posted videos of himself making and setting off homemade bombs, investigators say.

He threatened to kill people at the CIA headquarters in Washington D.C., according to investigators, who also say they found more than 30 homemade bombs in his car when he was pulled over in Mt. Lebanon in July 2020.

Cofano also had a flame thrower, rocket launcher and a machine gun, according to prosecutors.

Sentencing is scheduled for Dec. 8.
