More than 6,000 people getting COVID-19 vaccinations at PNC Park

PITTSBURGH — More than 6,000 people will get COVID-19 vaccinations at PNC Park through Friday.

Allegheny Health Network and Highmark Health’s appointment-only vaccination clinic is being held Thursday and Friday for people in group 1A of the Pennsylvania Department of Health’s phased vaccine rollout. First doses are being given out.

The people who are getting vaccinated have already pre-registered.

After Thursday and Friday’s vaccinations, AHN will have vaccinated more than 12,000 people at PNC Park, officials said. Those people will return to the ballpark for second doses of the vaccine.

People who received the vaccine at the first clinic at PNC Park on Feb. 6 will get their second doses on Saturday. Thursday and Friday’s recipients will get the second dose on March 18 and March 19.
