The city of Beaver Falls is getting a hand from the Pennsylvania National Guard.
The borough is partnering with the military reservists to demolish blighted homes in the Mount Washington neighborhood. The soldiers tear the structures down for free and the city pays to have the debris hauled away.
“It’s great training for them. They’re able to come in and get valuable training as far as with demolition, and at the same time, it’s a great partnership with the city,” said city manager Charles Jones.
