PITTSBURGH — A breakthrough treatment to help women suffering from an aggressive form of breast cancer was released Saturday.
The University of Pittsburgh and UPMC Hillman Cancer Center published results from a new trial.
It was the first large clinical trial to support the use of immunotherapy in breast cancer patients and the results were very encouraging.
Triple negative breast cancer is very aggressive and affects about 20 percent of all breast cancer patients.
