People living near SUV, motorcycle crash scene in Penn Hills plead for drivers to slow down

PENN HILLS, Pa. — People who live near Penn Hills Elementary School witnessed a horrific crash between a motorcycle and an SUV Tuesday.

“It’s crazy. Like you said, there’s a school right there. Sometimes trying to get out of the driveway is crazy because they just come so fast,” said Kathy Hunt. “Please slow down.”

Neighbors told Channel 11 the road is very dangerous and with the steep hills, there needs to be more signage that there’s a school nearby.

“They do not pay attention to the speed. Its just horrible. Even when my siblings go outside to play in the grass, I still have to pay attention,” Taliyah Smith said. “They could put signs up, more signs about how fast people are going, watch out for children, it’s a school zone. They have it for the other schools, but not the elementary school.”

Penn Hills officials said that stretch of Jefferson Road is a state road.
