Pitt to host COVID-19 vaccination clinic for 800 health care workers, students

PITTSBURGH — About 800 health care workers and students working in health care roles will be able to get their COVID-19 vaccination at a special clinic at the University of Pittsburgh.

According to a news release, the vaccine recipients all have scheduled appointments through the Allegheny County Health Department based on the agency’s prioritization. Students involved in the clinic are from Chatham University, Community College of Allegheny County, Duquesne University, LaRoche University, Pittsburgh Technical College and the University of Pittsburgh.

“It was really easy. It was straightforward. It seemed very organized. There were no issues,” CCAC student Alexandra Mason said.

Mason is studying occupational therapy, making her eligible to get the vaccine.

“I feel very fortunate, very blessed I was able to get the vaccine,” Mason said. “Many others don’t have that opportunity yet. I’m very fortunate.”

The health department is providing the vaccine and the clinic will be staffed on Jan. 28-29 by Pitt faculty and students.

The clinic will be at the Petersen Events Center.
