PITTSBURGH — The Macedonia Church of Pittsburgh took over the Southside Giant Eagle Saturday, paying the bills for shoppers and workers.
All 77 employees got $50 gift cards for their efforts during the pandemic.
More than 200 shoppers had their grocery bills paid for. The senior pastor of the church said it was all about helping each other.
Edmunds said the church uses these giveaways to connect with the Pittsburgh community, especially during these tough times as the pandemic continues.
“If we can have 2021 have a fresh start for a lot of people, and they feel blessed, loved, they feel they’re not in this by themselves, that would be an awesome way for us to be who we’re called to be,” Pastor Brian Edmunds said.
