• Pittsburgh councilwoman creates new Facebook page to possibly avoid legal trouble


    Pittsburgh City Councilwoman Darlene Harris has a new Facebook page, possibly to avoid legal trouble over how she uses social media.

    Channel 11 told you recently that the American Civil Liberties Union scolded Harris for blocking constituents, calling it a violation of their First Amendment rights.

    Harris set up a new professional Facebook account on Thursday. 

    In a post Thursday night, Harris maintained her page is personal and said she can block whomever she wants, so she set up a new, professional Facebook account.

    Referring to her existing account, she writes: "Anyone that I have already blocked on this page will remain blocked. If they have an issue with me as a councilperson, they are welcome to go to my City Council Facebook page and message me there."
