According to a township commissioner, the development includes additional retail space, a fitness facility and renovation of the existing food court, but not additional parking.

But now, commissioners are voicing some major concerns about the plan, which led them to table the proposal.

The biggest issue seems to be the safety of employees and customers who rely on public transportation to get to and from the mall, especially if they are leaving when it's dark outside.

Commissioners want Ross Park Mall officials to create sidewalks for pedestrians.

Representatives said there is a way to do that, but it would be costly.

Commissioners want mall officials to bring a revised proposal to next month's meeting.
