Woman says she was assaulted in Pittsburgh park

PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh police are investigating after a woman was reportedly assaulted in Sheraden Park Wednesday evening.

The woman told police she managed to Mace the man, get away and call 911.

Officers chased a man to a home on Sacramento Avenue. A SWAT team was called in because police believed he possibly had a firearm.

Police said they had to deploy “tactical means” to get him out of the home because they were unable to make contact. He still didn’t come out, so SWAT entered the home, according to police. He resisted arrest, but they were able to get him into custody.

The man was interviewed by police and later released.

Police said the woman is OK.
