Police investigating shooting in Pittsburgh’s East Liberty

PITTSBURGH — Police are investigating after a man was shot in Pittsburgh’s East Liberty.

Channel 11 found investigators at the intersection of Broad Street and North Sheridan Avenue about a block from Target.

Police said early indications are that the victim was walking up to his moped when several men tried to rob him and pulled out a gun.

“He ran into the store and said are you really going to shoot me?,” said Semirae Reddix.

Reddix was inside a beauty supply store nearby when the victim came screaming in.

“All I saw was he was getting chased,” she said. “I heard shots fired. I ran, I got out of here. I was so scared. I was so terrified. I didn’t know what to do,” she said.

The victim was rushed to the hospital.

Police said they are still investigating.
