Police looking for 2 people who broke into Butler County business, stole nearly 2 dozen wheels

BUTLER, Pa. — Police are looking for two people who broke into a Butler County business this week and stole 21 wheels.

“They walked around the whole building trying to open the doors. They drove around canvassing the place just acting like they don’t care,” vice president Frank Zbuckvich said.

Surveillance video showed two people taking the 22.5 inch aluminum tractor-trailer wheels from inside the garage of McClymonds Supply and Transit Company in Butler on early Monday morning. For 10 minutes, the pair was caught on camera going back and forth stealing 22 truck rims.

The wheels are worth over $12,000.

One suspect was wearing all black, and the other was wearing a tan hoodie, light pants and a beanie.

“Just angry. There’s no reason. There’s plenty of jobs out there. I mean we hire every day, just about. People should look for a job rather than steal things,” Zbuckvich said.

Investigators think the pair stole the rims for quick cash at a scrap yard. An alert was sent out to area scrap businesses to let them know if the rims show up, they were stolen.
