UPDATE 7:41 A.M.:

Police tell Channel 11 Alex Reed has been found safe and unharmed.

ORIGINAL STORY:

A family is asking for help as they search for a missing teenager police say is in danger.

Alex Reed, 14, was last seen at Trinity Christian School in Forest Hills at 12:45 p.m. Tuesday, Wilkins Township police said.

He’s 6’1, 195lbs, and was wearing jeans, a dark green Carhartt jacket, black Nike shoes and a buttondown shirt. He may be carrying a backpack.

Police said he may be depressed and his mental health needs to be evaluated.

His mother told Channel 11 Alex had gotten in trouble at school and she got a phone call to pick him up. But the school called her back a few minutes later to tell her Alex was missing.

Alex's sister, Breanna Mahler, said she's scared for him.

"I don't understand how you have a child ... we're leaving our children with you. You're supposed to be taking care of him," she said. "He's supposed to be in school detention, one on one. Where was that teacher?"

Alex's mother said he doesn't have his cellphone because it was taken away at school.
