Reported paintball shooting ends with woman arrested, dog with gunshot wound

PITTSBURGH — Police responding to a report of people shooting paintballs ended up finding a wanted woman and shooting her dog.

Investigators said officers were called to Helen Way in Allentown Saturday but the people accused of firing the paintballs were already gone. While in the area, police spotted a woman with a warrant out for her arrest.

Police said the woman’s dog became agitated and tried to bite an officer. That officer shot at the dog and the animal ran off. The woman was pepper sprayed and eventually taken into custody.

The dog was found later with a gunshot wound. It was taken to a veterinarian to be treated.
