Shooting victims show up at Children's Hospital in bullet-ridden SUV

PITTSBURGH — Police responded early Tuesday morning to UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh after two shooting victims showed up in an SUV riddled with bullet holes, authorities said.

The victims, a man and a woman, said they were sitting in a car on Paulson Avenue when several men approached, police said.

When the 40-year-old driver got out of the SUV, the men began shooting, police said. He was shot multiple times and his 38-year-old passenger was shot once in the leg.

The victims showed up at Children’s Hospital, where there was a large police presence outside about 3:30 a.m. Their SUV, a black Ford Explorer, had several bullet holes in it and shattered windows.

The SUV was towed from Children’s Hospital.

Police said shell casings were recovered from the scene of the shooting on Paulson Avenue.
