77-year-old woman who went missing after visiting Pa. over Christmas found safe

LAWRENCE CO., Pa. — UPDATE (12/29) State troopers have canceled the missing person alert, as the woman has been found safe.

Pennsylvania State Police issued an alert for a 77-year-old woman who went missing after visiting from Ohio over Christmas weekend.

According to a release, Ruby Hopson -- who lives in Youngstown, Oh. -- was in western Pennsylvania this weekend visiting family.

She was last headed back to Ohio Sunday around 11 p.m. on Interstate 70, but troopers said she never made it home.

Investigators said Hopson may be “at special risk of harm or injury and may be confused.” She was described as 5-foot-2, 162 pounds, and she was driving a black 2014 Chevrolet Cruze.

State police did not have any information about the clothes Hopson was wearing when her family last saw her.
