A woman can be seen walking down the street with a husky in her arms.

Police say the woman took the dog right from the front yard of a local veteran.

The dog's owner is still shaken up.

John Krill is a United States Army veteran who did three tours of duty. Loki, his Siberian husky, is like family to him.

"He was a gift from my wife when I came home a second time from Guantánamo Bay," Krill said.

Loki went missing from Krill's fenced-in Butler yard.

"I went inside for a few minutes and he was gone," Krill said.

Butler police quickly got involved and found video of Calicia Ledoux carrying the dog into her apartment just a few blocks away.

Police believe she was going to sell the pure-breed for quick cash. Krill couldn't believe a stranger stole his dog and alleged abuse of his beloved Loki.

"To be honest with you, that's what threw me over the edge and made me press charges," Krills said.

Krill doesn't know the woman and has no idea why she targeted him.

Police charged her with theft.
