Target 11 digs into company's history after school bus overturns in Mars

Target 11 started digging into a bus company's history minutes after a school bus overturned in Mars, injuring several children.

During the past two years, the bus company, AJ Myers and Sons, has been involved in four crashes resulting in two injuries.

We also pulled inspection reports from the Department of Transportation and we discovered that the company had 36 total inspections.

Six violations were found during those inspections, from a horn not working to no fire extinguisher.

AJ Myers and Sons, operating out of Kittanning, has been in business for more than 60 years.

They have 331 buses and 307 drivers.

The most recent crash occurred back in May in Unity Township, Westmoreland County.

A school bus carrying 24 children struck a guardrail. One student was treated for an arm injury, but there were no serious injuries.

A couple years ago, the state auditor general discovered two bus drivers who were driving for AJ Myers in the Penn Hills District had criminal records and driving for AJ Myers.

The school district decided to end their contract with the bus company.
