This year’s ‘1-4-3 Day’ takes on new meaning due to COVID-19 pandemic

PITTSBURGH — Pennsylvania’s second annual 1-4-3 Day will be held on May 22, and this year it takes on a special meaning during the coronavirus pandemic.

1-4-3 Day is a statewide day of kindness in honor of Fred Rogers, who often used 1-4-3 as a way of saying “I love you” on Mister Roger’s Neighborhood, with the 1-4-3 representing the number of letters in each word.

This year, Gov. Tom Wolf is encouraging people to show kindness and appreciation to essential workers and neighbors.
