Tom Hanks coming back to Pittsburgh to film new movie

PITTSBURGH — Tom Hanks will be making his return to the Pittsburgh area to film a new movie, “A Man Called Ove.”

The movie will be directed by Marc Forster, who previously directed “Finding Neverland,” “World War Z,” and “The Kite Runner.”

Hanks will star in and produce the adaptation of the 2015 Swedish comedy, according to our partners at TribLIVE.com. The film is adapted from a best-selling novel by Fredrik Backman.

This comes after Hanks starred as Fred Rogers in the 2019 film “A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood.”

It’s not clear when filming will get underway.
