Truck driver who fatally struck man on I-70 was arrested in Washington County

Washington County — Police this week arrested a Virginia man accused of driving a tractor-trailer which struck and killed a man working on his disabled car on the berm of Interstate 70.

Hosea Holcomb, 27, was arrested on Monday and is being held without bond. He was driving east on I-70 when police say his truck veered off the highway and he hit John Isenberg, 33, of Ohio, who was standing next to his vehicle.

Holcomb told police he looked in his rear view mirror after veering into the berm and continued driving after seeing no damages.

A witness to the accident told police he called emergency services to report the truck Holcomb was driving for erratic driving and gave police Holcomb’s license plate number.

Holcomb allegedly confessed to only having five hours of sleep prior to the accident, and that he needed to stop earlier for a nap.
