TSA stops man after loaded .32 caliber handgun found at Pittsburgh International Airport

PITTSBURGH — An Ohio man was stopped by Transportation Security Administration officers at Pittsburgh International Airport after a loaded .32-caliber handgun was found in a carry-on bag.

TSA officers spotted the gun at the security checkpoint’s X-ray machine. Officers alerted the Allegheny County Police which confiscated the gun.

The handgun was loaded with seven bullets.

As of Sunday, there were eight guns found at the airport’s security checkpoint so far this year. In 2019, there were 35 guns caught.

A typical first offense for carrying a handgun into a checkpoint carries a fine of $4,100.
