Man suspected of shooting, killing another man in West Mifflin

WEST MIFFLIN, Pa. — Police are asking for the public’s help finding Daymond Wiggins, 37. Investigators tell Channel 11 an arrest warrant was issued for Wiggins in connection with a deadly shooting in West Mifflin.

Wiggins is described as having black hair, brown eyes and stands 5 feet, 7 inches. Police said he weighs about 170 pounds.

Anyone seeing Wiggins is asked to call 911 immediately.

Police were called to investigate a deadly shooting late Monday in West Mifflin.

Dispatchers got a call just before midnight for shots fired and a man found lying in the yard near 30 Building at Mon View Heights Apartments.

When a Channel 11 crew got to the scene, police had crime scene tape up across Midway Drive.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, and has been identified as Thomas Johnson, 45, of Duquesne, according to the Allegheny County medical examiner’s office.

Allegheny County police detectives are trying to determine a motive and any possible suspects.
