Woman comes face to face with burglar in her home

A Beaver County woman talked only to Channel 11 in an effort to warn her community about what happened to her family over the weekend.

Destiny Lute told Channel 11's Amy Marcinkiewicz a man cased her place for two hours before walking right into her home while she, her husband and 10-year-old child were sleeping.

Lute woke up and came face to face with the intruder, grabbed a hammer and chased him out of the home.

Surveillance video captured his every move.

"I'm scared to death to be talking to you, but I feel like I have to do this for my family, for the community, to warm them," Lute said.

New Brighton police told Channel 11 Kreigh Moore is a person of interest. Moore bonded out of jail March 17 and is awaiting trial for an October home burglary in New Brighton where he was caught on surveillance camera casing a home and entering it when a family was inside.

Moore has not been charged in this case, and New Brighton police said he is one of many suspects. No arrests have been made.
