PITTSBURGH — A woman was hit by a train Saturday afternoon in Pittsburgh’s Shadyside neighborhood.
The accident was reported shortly after 12:30 p.m. on the Norfolk Southern Railroad tracks along the East Busway, near South Negley Avenue.

Firefighters and paramedics removed the woman from the tracks and transported her to a hospital.
She was last reported to be in stable condition with an arm injury, a Pittsburgh police spokeswoman said.
Traffic in the area was stopped and the East Busway was shut down for a short time while crews remained at the scene.
